Not Ashamed of The Way
In a Star Wars novel that I read, there was a character named Bardan Jusik. He was both a Jedi and a Mandalorian. The Jedi are dedicated to keeping peace. On the other hand, Mandelorians embrace a life of warfare. So the two groups are sort of opposites. He liked being a Mandalorian so much that he told all his friends that he was quitting the Jedi order to become just a Mandalorian. The Jedi were shocked and in disbelief of his choice. He was not ashamed of being a Mandalorian even though all of his Jedi clan was against his decision. Similarly, we should not be ashamed of being a Christian.
This is like Moses, who was born into a Hebrew house at a time when the Pharaoh had ordered all baby boys to be killed! So his mother hid him in a basket and put it in the Nile River. His sister followed him down the river until the Pharaoh's daughter found him and adopted him. Moses then grew up in the Pharaoh's house as a prince. The Egyptians were very powerful at this time in history, but he never forgot that he was one of God's people. Later when he had grown up he left the power of the Egyptians to save his people. He did this because he found the promise of God more rewarding than the Egyptians' earthly riches. So he was not ashamed of being a Hebrew ,who were at the time Egyptian slaves.
The writer of Hebrews remembers this faithful choice of Moses in Hebrews 11:24-26, which says, “24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.”
So in conclusion you should not be ashamed because Paul said in Romans 1 16-17 “ I am not ashamed of the gospel ]of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
